Closing Day
Congratulations—you've made it to the final step! While there are still a few details to complete, Chris will guide you through the closing process and make sure everything comes together as smoothly as possible.
- Final Walk-Through
Shortly before closing, the buyer will complete a final walk-through of the home to confirm it's in the agreed-upon condition, that any negotiated repairs have been completed, and that all included items remain with the property. - Prepare for Your Move
Before closing, be sure to remove all personal belongings unless otherwise agreed upon, leave the home clean, and gather all keys, garage door openers, mailbox keys, manuals, warranties, and any other important information for the new homeowner. - Transfer Utilities & Home Services
Schedule the cancellation or transfer of utilities and other home services effective on or shortly after your closing date to ensure a seamless transition for the new owners. - Closing Documents
The title company or closing attorney will prepare the final documents for review and signature. Once all paperwork has been completed, funds have been received, and the transaction has been recorded, ownership of the property is officially transferred to the buyer. - Receiving Your Proceeds
If you're receiving funds from the sale, they can typically be sent directly to your bank account by wire transfer or provided by check, depending on your preference and the closing company's procedures.
